Colorectal Disease

Colorectal cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer in the United States, but it is extremely preventable and treatable. Dr. William Taylor is part of the St. Francis Center for Surgical Care. He is a colorectal surgeon. Colon and rectal surgeons are experts in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of colon and rectal problems. They have completed advanced training in the treatment of colon and rectal problems in addition to full training in general surgery. Colon and rectal surgeons treat benign and malignant conditions perform routine screening examinations and surgically treat problems when necessary.

Dr. Taylor has board certifications with the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He completed a fellowship in colorectal surgery at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.

Dr. Taylor is a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and is constantly acquiring new knowledge aiding in prevention and early detection of colon cancer. Dr Taylor strives to remind everyone that Colorectal Cancer is a PREVENTABLE disease, and is very treatable if diagnosed early with appropriate screenings. In addition the St. Francis Center for Surgical Care has the only endorectal ultrasound in Columbus, which is used to accurately stage rectal cancer.
