The St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary celebrated its 50th Anniversary during a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, in the hospital’s Auditorium. 

The St. Francis Auxiliary has provided much support to the hospital and the community. Over the past 50 years, the Auxiliary has helped to raise over $2 million and has given approximately 825,000 hours of volunteer service. Through the Sister Mary Evelyn Fitz Scholarship, the St. Francis Auxiliary has awarded over $280,000 to local college students wishing to pursue careers in a health related field.  

Recipients of the Sister Mary Evelyn Fitz Scholarship for the 2008-2009 school year were also announced during the luncheon, as well as the new Auxiliary officers.
