SafetyCab Provides Safe Rides Home
Tuesday, January 20, 2009

The roadways in Columbus, Phenix City and Fort Benning were kept a little safer this past holiday season thanks to the efforts of SafetyCab. During the three-week program, 458 free rides were given to partygoers unable to safely drive themselves home from parties, restaurants and nightclubs. This would not have been possible without the support of the community.

The Bradley Center began SafetyCab 26 years ago, and it remains a success today. This year, SafetyCab was coordinated by St. Francis Hospital and was co-sponsored by B&B Beverage Company and Aflac.

We also want to thank our media sponsors for continuously reminding people of SafetyCab’s availability: Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, WTVM-TV9, WXTX-TV Fox54 , Q1073,  Kissin 99.3, 95.3 The Ride, AM 1420, 103.7 The Truth, Rooster 106, Rock 103, Sunny 100, 98.3 The Beat, Magic 101.3, News Radio AM 540 WDAK, Viva 1460 and 1270 AM WSHE.

We greatly appreciate the support of the following groups who delivered publicity materials to bars, liquor stores, restaurants and nightclubs: Columbus Emergency Medical Service, and police and safety departments in Columbus, Phenix City and Ft. Benning.

Our appreciation also goes to out conscientious SafetyCab dispatchers and to A-Cab, City Cab, Yellow Cab, Goldstar Cab, Ranger Cab and Marine Cab for their participation.

Thank you to all for generously contributing your time and resources.
