For the 14th year, St. Francis associates volunteering for the hospital’s Mission Awareness Team will deliver close to 300 super-sized Easter baskets, overflowing with candy and gifts for needy children, to area agencies at 10 a.m. TODAY. The baskets will be delivered to Open Door Community House, Muscogee County DFACS, Damascus Way, Children’s Tree House, Hope Harbor and House of Mercy. Vehicles will depart from the hospital’s east parking garage (next to the Medical Office Building).            

The project is sponsored by St. Francis’ Mission Awareness Team. Associates fill baskets for the children they “adopt” with everything from jelly beans and chocolate cream eggs to stuffed baby dolls, basketballs, games and stuffed animals, plus many practical items, such as toothpaste, shampoo and school supplies.            

Students from St. Francis’ Partner-In-Education school, St. Anne Pacelli School also contributed baskets and extra supplies to the effort.
