As part of National Stroke Awareness Month, St. Francis Hospital is offering FREE health screenings to the community. High blood pressure is the number one cause of stroke. Nearly 60 million Americans have high blood pressure, and almost a third of that number does not know they have it! St. Francis encourages people to take charge of their own health by attending the FREE health screenings from 1-3 p.m. Friday, May 21. The event will be held in the Woodruff Atrium at St. Francis (adjacent to the Emergency Room entrance). Screenings include pulse oximetry, carotid, blood pressure, stroke and body mass index.
